Details
A wall of weathered stone rises behind your animals, cut into columns, stepped plateaus, and deep shadowed grooves, with carved faces and sun symbols worn soft by time. This back panel turns a flat pane of glass into a climbable rock face with real depth, giving geckos and frogs levels to move through and giving moss and vining plants somewhere to take hold. Lit from the front, the relief throws long shadows that make a small enclosure read as a much larger overgrown ruin.
📖 Full Product Description
This is a 3D printed background panel designed to sit against the rear pane of a terrarium, vivarium, paludarium, or the dry upper section of an aquarium. The surface is sculpted as ancient weathered stonework: vertical columns, stacked steps, and broad plateaus that build a genuine three-dimensional height profile, separated by deep grooves and irregular joints. Set into the stone are Aztec style reliefs, carved mask faces, sun discs, and totem motifs, some of them broken and half swallowed by the rock as though the wall has stood untended for centuries. Designed by novYTerra, it reads as hand carved artificial stone rather than a smooth molded plastic sheet.
Function comes first in the layout. The plateaus and projecting ledges give climbing species places to perch and travel across the back of the enclosure instead of pacing the floor. Recesses and shadowed pockets between the columns work as shelter and sightline breaks for shy animals. Those same pockets and steps hold moss, small ferns, epiphytes, and trailing plants, so a bioactive or planted build grows into the stonework over time and the seams fill in with green. Panels can also be set side by side to cover a wider back wall when one is not enough to span your enclosure.
The naturalistic stone styling suits keepers across several hobbies. For misted, planted, or bioactive builds, the PETG Wet Model fits high-humidity residents such as dart frogs, tree frogs, crested geckos, and day geckos, along with humidity-loving invertebrates like tropical isopods and springtails, and it is also the version to choose for enclosures under high-output UV. For drier builds, the PLA Dry Model suits arid terrarium and display keepers housing animals such as leopard geckos, many tarantulas, temperate isopods, and millipedes. Match the version to your habitat’s humidity and lighting, and compare the ledges, grooves, and recesses against the size and behavior of your specific animals before use.
Outside of livestock use, the same relief works as scenery for tabletop terrain, dioramas, model display, and shelf decor, where the PLA Dry Model is the sensible pick.
You receive one back panel, printed as a single piece in one solid unpainted filament color. It is designed to sit against the rear of the enclosure and be positioned or secured using the method you prefer. No mounting hardware, adhesive, or silicone is included, and plants, substrate, animals, lighting, and the enclosure itself are not included either.

🧱 Material Options
This panel is offered in two versions, so you can match it to your enclosure:
PETG Wet Model
Choose this version for high-humidity, misted, bioactive, or partially submerged setups, for paludariums and above-waterline aquarium backgrounds, and for enclosures running high-output UV lighting. It is printed in PETG and supplied completely unpainted. CurioPrinta uses PETG for these conditions rather than standard PLA because PETG handles prolonged moisture and UV exposure far better than PLA. That is a material choice, not a guarantee: continuous high-output UV can still gradually embrittle PETG over time, and PETG is not permanently waterproof, indestructible, chemically inert, or universally suitable for every animal or water condition.
PLA Dry Model
Choose this version for arid terrariums, dioramas, tabletop terrain, shelf display, and general home decor. PLA versions are not recommended for submerged aquarium use, constantly wet or heavily misted enclosures, or setups with strong UV lighting. Pick PLA only when the panel will stay dry and out of intense UV.
🔧 Setup, Use & Care
For wet, misted, and aquarium use (PETG Wet Model)
💧 Rinse the panel thoroughly with clean water before placing it in an enclosure or tank.
🚫 Avoid soaps, detergents, household cleaners, and unapproved chemical treatments.
🔍 Inspect the panel before use and confirm the grooves, recesses, and ledges are appropriately sized for the animals in the enclosure.
🧱 Position it securely so it cannot shift, tip, trap an animal, or press hard against the glass.
🔁 Check it periodically as part of normal maintenance, and remove it if it becomes damaged, develops sharp areas, or no longer sits securely.
🐟 Introduce any new decoration thoughtfully and observe your animals after installation.
For terrarium, vivarium & paludarium use
🌡️ Verify the material and design suit your habitat’s temperature, humidity, lighting, and species.
🔥 Keep the panel away from direct contact with high-output heat lamps, heating elements, and other intense heat sources.
🧱 Secure the panel against the rear of the enclosure so it cannot tip, slide, or fall forward. Mounting hardware and adhesive are not included, so use the method that suits your build.
🦎 Check ledges, recesses, and gaps against your animal’s adult size.
🧹 Inspect regularly for wear, damage, trapped waste, or areas that are hard to clean.
📘 Let qualified, species-specific husbandry guidance take priority over general product suggestions.
Cleaning
For the PETG Wet Model, rinse with clean water and use a soft brush to reach the deeper grooves when needed. Avoid soaps, bleach, solvents, abrasive cleaners, boiling water, dishwashers, and high-temperature cleaning. Allow it to dry completely if it is removed for long-term storage. For the PLA Dry Model, dust with a soft brush or cloth, use a lightly damp cloth when appropriate, and keep it away from intense heat.
📐 Dimensions
Approximate dimensions, imperial first with metric in parentheses. One size, printed as a single piece:
Width: 5.7" (145 mm)
Depth: 2.2" (55 mm)
Height: 8.4" (213 mm)
The panel is taller than it is wide, so it stands as a vertical section of wall. Set two or more side by side to span a wider enclosure.
Because each item is individually 3D printed, minor dimensional variation may occur.
🎨 Color and Appearance
The panel is printed in a single solid filament color and is not painted. The relief itself does the work: deep grooves, stepped faces, and carved detail catch light and shadow, which is what gives a one-color print its stone-like depth. Some listing photos may show the panel painted as a finishing example only, and your panel ships unpainted.
Color may look slightly different in person because of lighting, photography, monitor settings, and filament batches. The appearance can also shift under strong terrarium or aquarium lighting, or when the surface is wet. Natural-looking variation comes from selecting an appropriate filament color rather than from applied paint, and an exact color match is not promised.
🖨️ About 3D Printing
This item is created using FDM 3D printing technology. Fine layer lines, small seams, slight texture changes, and minor variations are normal characteristics of the process. These details are not considered defects and make each piece slightly unique. Support-contact marks may appear in hidden or recessed areas, and minor cosmetic differences can occur between prints because each panel is individually produced rather than injection molded.
🛠️ Made to Order
Each panel is printed individually after you order, so minor differences between pieces are normal. Production time is separate from shipping time.
🧩 This panel prints as one solid piece and ships fully formed. There is no assembly, and no parts to fit together.
⚠️ Safety and Compatibility
This product is decorative habitat decor, not a toy. You are responsible for deciding whether the size, material, openings, surfaces, and placement are appropriate for your specific animals and habitat. Animals should not be allowed to chew or ingest the material, and the item should be removed if it becomes damaged, as small parts or broken pieces may present a hazard. CurioPrinta cannot account for every species, animal behavior, enclosure design, water chemistry, temperature, or maintenance routine, so please confirm suitability for your own setup before use.
CurioPrinta does not describe this product as "aquarium safe," "reptile safe," "non-toxic," or guaranteed for any specific animal. Naming a species anywhere in this listing is for search relevance and design context, not a compatibility or safety claim.

❓ FAQ
💧 Can this be placed underwater?
Choose the PETG Wet Model for wet use. PETG is the material CurioPrinta uses for submerged and high-humidity decor because it handles prolonged water exposure better than standard PLA. Rinse it first, position it securely, and check it as part of normal maintenance.
🎨 Is the wet version painted?
No. The PETG Wet Model ships completely unpainted in a solid filament color. Any painted images are finishing examples only.
🧱 Can I order this in PLA?
Yes, as the PLA Dry Model for arid terrariums, dioramas, tabletop terrain, and dry display. PLA is not recommended for submerged use, constantly wet or heavily misted enclosures, or strong UV lighting.
☀️ Which version should I pick for a UV-lit setup?
Choose the PETG Wet Model. PETG holds up to high-output UV far better than PLA. It is not immune, since continuous UV can gradually embrittle any plastic over time, but it is the more durable choice for brightly lit enclosures.
🔩 How does it mount?
It is designed to sit against the rear of the enclosure and be positioned or secured with the method that suits your build. No mounting hardware, adhesive, or silicone is included, and any material used to fix it in place should be researched and confirmed as appropriate for your habitat.
🧩 Can I use more than one to cover a wider wall?
Yes. Panels can be set side by side to cover a wider back wall. Each panel is sold individually and ships as a single piece.
🖌️ Can I paint it myself?
You can, but for anything in an animal habitat you must independently research and confirm that any paint or coating is suitable for your intended species and conditions. CurioPrinta does not recommend customer-applied paint for submerged use and ships the panel unpainted.
🧹 How should I clean it?
Rinse the PETG Wet Model with clean water and use a soft brush for the deeper grooves if needed. Avoid soaps, bleach, solvents, abrasives, boiling water, and dishwashers. Dust the PLA Dry Model with a soft brush or a lightly damp cloth.
📷 Will it look exactly like the photographs?
It will be very close, but small differences in texture, layer lines, and color are normal for made-to-order 3D prints, and appearance can shift under enclosure lighting or when the surface is wet.
🐍 Is it suitable for my specific reptile, amphibian, or invertebrate?
That depends on your animal and setup, so please compare the dimensions, ledges, and recesses against your species and follow qualified husbandry guidance. CurioPrinta cannot guarantee compatibility with any specific animal.
